As summer wanes, we prepare ourselves for the coziness of fall – fires in the fireplace, orange and red wreaths up on the door, and the smell of country apple candles filling our house. Not only do we prepare our homes, but we also need to prepare our wardrobes. The colors for fall are richer and deeper than the brights of summer – with burgundy, teal, and mustard being very popular (think jewel tones). These colors go perfectly with the new leopard and animal print trends seen everywhere. Its time to break out the boots and sweaters to transition into the fall styles. Awhile back I posted some fall must-haves (see below) to add to your wardrobe. These are some of the wardrobe essentials you can use to build your outfits around. Today I’m going to show you these outfits so that you can be inspired for your own wardrobe!

You guys – this is my hands down favorite find of the season. You can pair with a long tank top over leggings for more coverage, or leave it open to go with a cute pair of jeans. Its very soft, flowy and has a slight texture. I have a similar Free People sweater which is one of my favorite styles. A cute top like this is an easy way to elevate a casual look or dress up for a date night.

The blanket scarf may seem overwhelming but you can tame it with a cute tie belt for a more put-together look. I wear this on plane rides or traveling because its super comfortable and doubles as a blanket. It would also be great for outdoor events this fall – maybe even a hayride or two 😉

The tie-waist dress is a beautiful style on any shape. You could switch out the fabric tie for a belt for a different look. This will pair great over leggings or tights when the weather cools down and is appropriate for work and play. This fabric is also super soft and flowy and I love how this blush will go great with the fall tones of burgundy and navy as well. TTS.

We all love a good legging- sweater. This one fits the bill and I’m loving this pretty pink/mauve color for fall. Also, when will this rain stop? Its been raining for weeks. At least I can stay dry with my rain boots 🙂

Seriously my favorite jeans ever – and from Old Navy – who would have thought? The detailing, the stretch and support are wonderful. They’re high waisted but they don’t make your “mom-pouch” stand out like some high waisted pants. Fit TTS.

I found this amazing dress on Amazon for under $20!! It comes in over 20 colors. Perfect for fall pictures or to pair over leggings. You can also throw on a belt to cinch the waist a little more but I think this dress does a nice job of adding shape.
